About the Organization

‘Government Employees Housing Welfare Society’ (GEHWS) ) is a project initiated as a Housing Welfare Measure to Central as well as State Government Employees and Defense Personals. GEWO has been established to promote, control and co-ordinate different schemes relating to health, finance & housing for the working and retired government employees as welfare measure on No Profit No Loss Basis. After serving government employees for more than 10 years the Governing Council of GEWO resolved to introduce GEHWS to serve employees of central & state government, PSUs, employees of Railways and Banks along with Defense personals (Navy, Air Force and Army) and CPOs etc. The organization maintains a skilled project teams for all schemes/projects which look after day to day operations and developments, and provide its update to the Governing Body . 

GEHWS has the mandate to:

  1. Undertake social welfare schemes relating to Health, Finance and Housing as a welfare measure for Government Employees, both serving and retired, and spouses of deceased Government Employees by inter-alia promoting the construction of houses and providing all possible help and required inputs to achieve these object.
  2. Do all such things as are incidental, or conducive, to the attainment of any or all of the above objects.
  3. Extend its welfare schemes to public at large (not to exceed 25% per scheme/project) 

The goal of the organization is to provide welfare service to all Government Employees relating to Health, Finance and Housing.

Constitutional Set-up:

Government Employees Housing Welfare society has three levels of control in the organization: 

  1. General Body (Trustees)
  2. Executive Committee (professional)
  3. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) 

The General Body is a constitutional authority which lays down general policy guidelines and makes or amends Rules and Regulations of the society. along with our advisors from different government sectors who manages and administers the affairs of the society, approve projects/schemes & requirements of staff and lays down policy for investment. Executive Committee looks after the day to day affairs of the organization. In some cases few powers of these bodies have been delegated to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who conducts the business and executes all contracts on behalf of the organization.

 

ELIGIBILITY:

PRIORITY - I

  1. Serving Employees of central government & state government, PSUs, employees of Railways and Banks along with Defense personals (Navy, Air Force and Army), CPOs, central and state police etc. Employees of Union Territory Administration, Autonomous Bodies, Corporation, Nationalized Banks etc.
  2. Serving Uniformed employees of the Ministry of Defense, CPOs and serving employees of Ministry of Railways.
  3. Retired Employees of all government undertakings and corporations. 
  4. Any other organization governed by or directly relating to government of INDIA. 

PRIORITY – II

  1. Spouses of the deceased employees: Spouses of the deceased Government employees or deceased retired government employee
  2. Associates, partners and Employees of the GEHWS, with a minimum of one year of service, will be eligible. 

PRIORITY – III

  1. Spouses & family members of members in Priority-I.
  2. General Public (Limiting to 25% of members per scheme)
